Movie Info

Malcolm Clarke directed this drama about a couple of teens who take to the road in search of J.D. Salinger. D.J. Qualls of Road Trip and The New Guy stars as Neil, the son of a governor who is sent away to boarding school when he can't stay out of trouble. Once there, Neil is assigned to read The Catcher in the Rye and quickly becomes enamored with the book's main character, Holden Caufield. Along with his cohort, T.J. (Rachel Blanchard also from Road Trip), Neil sets out to find the reclusive author. The film's writer/producer, Sean Kanan also stars. Some viewers may recognize Kanan as Ralph Macchio's nemesis in The Karate Kid III.more

The melodrama of this film is odd considering the novel that inspired it.

If this sounds a lot like one of those angst-ridden teen movies: My Trip To New York With My Dying Girlfriend, that's because it is one of those movies.

Phony from beginning to'd be well advised not to catch the film.

A direct-to-video adventure in mixed messages and teen angst if ever I've seen one.

Audience Reviews for Chasing Holden

I don't like D.J. Qualls that much, he's not really leading man material. I guess if you like Catcher in the Rye, it's going to be a better film because they make LOTS of references to correlations because the guy is obsessed!
