In embracing its identity as a tacky horror movie, and totally scrapping the murder mystery angle that made the original so wobbly, it manages to be a darn sight more fun to watch.
There was no murder mystery in the first "Child's Play". The viewer knew exactly who the killer was the whole time. Also, the first "Child's Play" is not wobbly in the slightest. It's cohesively presented by a talented director and a great cast.
