Each week, either Dick Powell, Charles Boyer, David Niven, or Ida Lupino took center stage as the main protagonist. With subject matter ranging from drama to comedy, the show took audiences by surprise with each new 30-minute episode. This release includes the episode "The Gift," in which a grumpy businessman (Charles Boyer) is reminded of the Christmas season by his estranged son. Inspired by his wife's generosity, he reconsiders dropping the grudge he holds against him. RACKET SQUAD deals with the adventures of Captain John Braddock, who works for the racket squad of a big city police force. Reed Hadley stars in "The Christmas Caper," an episode in which criminals hire an old man to play Santa, only to trick him and steal the money he thinks he's raising for "charity." [More]
