That's a little too harsh I think. The movies aren't that bad (only the third movie is rotten at 49% with the first movie at 72%), and the third movie has grossed over $408 million worldwide now (with an estimated budget of $155 million). You can find a lot of other franchises with worse review scores than the Narnia films and as the BO figures show, the franchise is still profitable so another movie is really not out of the question. What irks me is that fans of the Narnia book series probably won't have the opportunity to see the two skipped books in the theaters if the producers really decided to jump right into The Magician's Nephew.

I liked the first Narnia film but I hated both sequels. That being said The magician's nephew is my favorite Narnia book so if it gets made I would see it. However, I doubt anyone would want to invest in a Narnia prequel since prequels tend to struggle at the box-office and the last two Narnia's struggled themselves. Also they planted the Easter egg for the silver chair at the end of Narnia 3 so It would be somewhat silly not to follow up on it if they make another.
