Movie Info

A romantic drama, Bolei chi sing/City Of Glass begins with a car crash, in which Raphael (Leon Lai) and Vivian (Shu Qui) are killed in London on New Year's Eve. The two were lovers, but both were married to other people. Raphael's son and Vivian's daughter, both adults, meet in Hong Kong to collect their parents' remains, and as the two get to know each other better, we learn more about Raphael and Vivian's relationship in flashbacks that trace the past 25 years. Director Mabel Cheung uses the relationships of these two couples as a metaphor for the changes Hong Kong went through over the past three decades. ~ Mark Deming, Rovimore

Audience Reviews for Boli zhi cheng (City of Glass)

Definitely the worst job by Mabel Cheung and Alex Law. The story is like an teenage kids' dream, and all the elements of the film, like camera and castings (I give Leon Lai and Qi Shu "the worst couple of the year"), are unbearably affected. There are so many other things I don't like about this film, but it's just waste of time to write them down here. I don't recommend this one.

A Daniel Wu movie; City of the Glass is a beautiful story of love and friendship. I enjoyed this because it is emotional where the lovers could not be together and yet are... It's also tragic that for some, Death is the only way to be together forever.
