Audience Reviews for Clash

Clash is a pretty awesome Vietnamese action movie that mixes martial arts and gunplay for a fun ride. It's almost like a mix of the Transporter movies and The Departed, so if that sound interesting to you, check it out.

Le Thanh Son's debut film, Clash, is an action film not to be ashamed of.The 100 minute story is straightforward and enough to fill the run time. There is some drag, as the film does get overly dramatic, while there are other times where the story lacks some explanation and it chops by at a more frequent pace. In other words, the storytelling needs some work.Unsurprisingly, the highlight of the picture belongs to the action. The camera work and the choreography for the street brawl martial arts combination fights are nicely done. There is very little in the way of slow motion shots, so all the bone crunching hits are shown in real time and that gets the adrenaline flowing. The lovely Thanh Van Ngo takes the lead early on and Johnny Nguyen brings the movie home. Both put on acceptable performances, but more importantly they deliver on the action segments. Watching Thanh Van Ngo dish out some pain is worth the price of admission.Clash may not be perfect, but it is worth checking out mostly for the action.
