Critic Review - San Francisco Examiner

It has no aspirations to be anything more than the popcorn movie it is, and for those amiably disposed to the genre, that should be enough.

This movie is a perfect example of how hollywood has lost its touch.Even without the comparison of the original, this movie fails bigtime.Persius, with his green camo tshirt and short haircut, looks exactly like a mondern day army solder. He looks totally modern 2010!.His caracter looks totally out of place. Also hollywood is doing a great injustice to alot of the remakes that they do.It shows how far that they have fallen. Also why didnt any of you so called critics mention the fact that the original was made with the help of the great Ray Harryhausen, the master of special affects of all time.Did it slip your mind or are you really not competent critics at all.this movie is worthless.

The worst part is, this movie paid itself off 4 times over (literally), grossing nearly $500m compared to a $125m budget. Scary, see that's why they continue to churn this meek, boring trash out - it pays to do so. It remains to be a business, and any business that can spend $125m over about a year, then repay that 4 times over in about 2 months, is a good business. Whilst cynical, they are not a charity, it's the ignorant masses that flock to this stuff with abandon that ensure that 'Hollywood' is operating under the guise of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. That's why there is a 'Clash of the Titans 2' due out in 2012. I dispute none of what you say, yet there are other factors that are manipulating the outcomes.

Actually, I mentioned Ray Harryhausen in the second graph. Try reading something more than the blurb.
