...at almost three hours this convoluted film telling six separate tales is too long and, in the end, too preachy. I felt like I should get a T-shirt that said, "I survived Cloud Atlas."
This should not be fresh review. The score is 70% but the words describe a movie that was panned by the critic.

Why is this a fresh ?

The critic in the full review says that the film (to his observation) never gave the dates for any of the places when it introduced them. Apparently, Tony wasn't paying attention when each location was introduced in the beginning of the movie, because it very clearly gave an indicator of location and year as each scene began. After each had been introduced, it stopped (for obvious reasons), but that doesn't excuse paying attention at the beginning. As the others have said, how did this get a fresh review with the overall negativity of the review? Such important questions to ponder in life.

This reviewer writes books on card games. How he became a film critic is a mystery to me. I haven't seen the film so I can't say he's full of hot air but I question his credentials.

That doesn't sound elitist at all.
