Cloverfield Trailer Leaks Online, Title Confirmed?
Lots of screaming and running around!
by Jeff Giles | November 16, 2007
Discuss Article
It may not count as an official trailer bulletin, but the full two-minute trailer for Cloverfield has leaked onto the Web, and CloverfieldNews has linked to multiple versions of the clip!

We aren't embedding them here -- much as Cloverfield producer J.J. Abrams loves viral marketing, it seems as likely as not that these videos will be cease-and-desisted off the Web before too long -- but if you want a peek at what's in store for you in the monster movie everyone's been talking about, click on the link below!

(Yes, it's called Cloverfield. Says so right there on the credits. And if you're prone to motion sickness, you may want to sit down, take a deep breath, and hold onto both arms of your chair. Just a tip.)

The movie looks awesome.
The trailer did everything it was supposed to,
Except a little skeptical about the way it was shot.
The whole hand-held camera could get very annoying,
But count me in on opening weekend.

I like the different angle that he's taking on this. Kind of like showing a natural disaster through the eyes of someone's home video camera. I just hope there's no huge let down once the monster is revealed, i.e, Hellboy, The Village, Mimic, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer; Galacticus never looked like that in the comics or the X-Men Cartoons. Well you all get my drift.

Yeah, this movie looks really freaky. I agree with the last posted comment; they should really avoid showing the creature(s) outright, and keep it to the power of suggestion. Our imagination can scare us more than any image could. That's why so many Stephen King adaptations come off as lame...because he can get your imagination working and bringing the creatures to life kind of defeats the purpose of that.

not to get to far off topic, but has anyone noticed that they're not showing those stupid looking CG flying thingies in the new "mist" ads? it almost looks creepy now, and if they edited those things out, i might go see it. like the above poster stated, the power of imagination can freak out you out more.

but i'm excited about this, kinda reminds me of the "host" for some reason.

it does not look like the whole thing is hand held and for me i say show the monster. It is completely possible if you know what your doing I dont know either way it looks like an A plus for effort and at least attempting to push the envelope

if this movie takes place in New York, why is it called Cloverfield?

that was the most meaningless piece of trash i've seen a long time. two hours of nauseating camera juggling (no, i will not refer to that as cinematography), ear-piercing screams and 'blair witch' talking-head testimonials? n'no. unless the monster is the stay-puff marshmallow man, this movie will suck.

Was cool until the shaky-cam began and lasted for 90% of the trailer to the point that I couldn't see a single thing. Hopefully that was just because it was so dark, because it looks interesting.

Cloverfield is either going to be the best monster movie since the orginal Godzilla, or the worse monster movie since the remake of Godzilla. I think we're going to be treated to a monster movie that's than expected for a change.

I love the vibe in this preview and so far feels fresh and kind of original. Dig the pseudo-realism here. I, for one, am pumped!

SHAKY CAM!!!! (didn't mean to shout.... sry) Anyway, i love shaky cam. It makes it feel so much realer. My mom HATES it. It makes her sick. I think people in the younger generation handle it better. maybe it's cause of video games. I don't know. Anyway, the whole idea of the tape being found and played is brilliant! Finally, a movie that doesn't rely on sensational standards of the industry, (i.e. Music, unseen camera, etc....) This is not the highest form of cinematic ART (thank GOD!) It's a Rollercoaster!!!! It's gonna be sweet! I just hope they don't ruin it with some big orchestra music in the backround trying to puncuate every bit of action or a lonely violen carressing every teardrop!!that would totally ruin the atmosphere.
Peace. Live long and prosper.

the quality of the tralier was why to hard for me to get into the trailer, dont get me wrong i want to see this movie but if the quality is obviously from a video camera in a movie theater i usually can stand the quality ill just wait for the real deal when it comes later...
