Code of the West (1929)
A far cry from the 1925 Paramount Western of the same name, this poverty-stricken silent oater featured also-ran cowboy Bob Custer as a postal inspector investigating a series of mail thefts. Custer is aided in his quest by what the film's booking guide describes as "a dumb but honest gent (Bobby Dunn)." Also featuring Vivian Ray, Martin Cichy, stunt-man Cliff Lyons and the omnipresent Bud Osborne, Code of the West was one in a series of very inexpensive Westerns directed by action specialist J.P.
