Hirata is forced to cancel his annual golf vacation in Hawaii in order to fulfill a Japanese tradition. He must travel to the river where his parents were killed in an accident seven years earlier and perform the necessary rituals that will finally lay their souls to rest. Kristinsson's gorgeous photography elevates the seemingly lighthearted proceedings to a deeper, more soulful level. This juxtaposition, in the tradition of Jim Jarmusch's DEAD MAN, makes COLD FEVER a relevant, lasting experience. [More]

Reviews for Cold Fever
An fascinating film that is both a valentine to the charms of Iceland and a flinty meditation on a young man's quest to bestow a blessing on the parents he took for granted.
