RT Video: A Giant Tomato Goes to Comic-Con...
What mystical horrors and delights await in San Diego?
by Alex Vo | July 28, 2008
Discuss Article

We came, we were in a giant tomato suit, we were mobbed. Even at a place like Comic-Con, RT editor Jen Yamato stood out like a fruit in a verdant eggplant patch, with no shortage of conventioneers running up to express their adoration for Rotten Tomatoes or confusing us for that Killer Tomatoes movie.

For your perusal: Jen's day-long meet-and-greet with the tastemakers who grease Hollywood's blockbuster wheels, an eclectic mix which includes a pint-sized Joker, a girl in a Blaster costume rockin' some Deep Purple tunes, and a fully interactive non-playable character who sends people on side quests (though he failed in directing us to the nearest save point). Check out all the fun in the video below!

Keep an eye out for the next video, which will possibly feature random gratuitous appearances from Kel Mitchell, Bob $tencil, and Unemployed Skeletor.

Great job, guys! That Yams is pretty irresistible when she transforms into a produce farmer's dreamy mcdreamerton (and good job not looking sweaty in the suit!). Did you guys knock over any swag tables or displays while turning around?

Looking forward to the next segment!

Thanks, guys! The suit is actually quite breathable and airy. I was rather comfy. I didn't knock any tables over but I ran into a few small children (they were fine) and bumped my way through the crowds on the convention floor. ("Excuse me!" "Pardon me!" "So sorry!") We got great footage with even more costumed fans, critics, and a few celebs so stay tuned!

Jen,
You are so wonderful! It was fun meeting you at Comic Con. I was the guy who once second guessed RT and saw The Happening :/

By the way, I told my friend Eric D. Snider that I met you and he said that he knows and loves you:)

Bye,
Matt Mattson
