jokerboy1991 writes: on Jul 13 2009 09:14 PM Ugh, I really wanted to go this year... I may make an appearance next year though! Awesome line up though, I'll probably just watch the coverage on G4. (Reply to this) |

sunsaz writes: on Jul 14 2009 05:42 AM Interesting lineup. Glad to see Lasseter will be Miyazaki's and Clement's wingman for their presentations. TS3 should be able to sell itself though. I can only imagine what the crowd reaction to the Nightmare remake will be. (Reply to this) |

Gabriel H. writes: on Jul 14 2009 07:40 AM Ugh. So much great stuff. Thanks for posting all this... just depresses me more since I'll be trapped in Artist's Alley... as usual. (Reply to this) |

Magic is Might writes: on Jul 14 2009 08:17 AM Sammy no you are not, 95% of the world does not even know that Avatar is coming out, only a select few retards are excited about. Ponya must be distributed by Disney if John Lasseter is producing it. (Reply to this) |

John N. writes: on Jul 14 2009 12:56 PM Maker of T2, Aliens, The Abyss, Titanic, using revolutionary technology to make a sci-fi war film with epic scope and those who have reported seeing glimpses of the unfinished film or the technology itself left breathless- yeah, only a select few retards are excited. (Reply to this) |

ledawg writes: on Jul 14 2009 02:24 PM In reply to this comment (#2526491) Just because you don't want to see it, dosen't mean most don't you moron. (Reply to this) |

Magic is Might writes: on Jul 14 2009 04:21 PM Okay John N. go ask 2000000 people about the movie and see how many of them actually know what you are talking about. Yes only a select few retards are excited about that movie. Until there is some kind of trailer that is fact, maybe after they actually try publicizing a movie coming out in a short 6 months people might get excited but it is not looking that way. You cant expect people to want to see a movie if they have never heard of it. (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jul 14 2009 05:13 PM In reply to this comment (#2526716) Titanic? He's got six months, but honestly I don't expect that much pre-movie buzz for this one. Cameron generally lets his movies speak for themselves. He doesn't need the heavy pre-release buzz. Gotta respect that. All killer, no filler. (Reply to this) |
|
BUCK69 writes: on Jul 14 2009 05:34 PM In reply to this comment (#2526716) Just because a "few" people who do know about it are excited doesn't mean that they're mentally handicapped. Only an idiot would make such a broad generalization. But then Toad, we know who you are, and what you are. To paraphrase Shakespeare, a moron by any other name would be as dim-witted. (Reply to this) |

Magic is Might writes: on Jul 14 2009 08:12 PM Okay so when you call the people that like Transformers retards that is okay? Hypocrite (Reply to this) |

ColinTheCimmerian writes: on Jul 16 2009 09:18 AM True, the vast majority of the movie-going public aren't yet aware of its existence, but that will certainly change once a trailer is released. The important thing is that most of the people who ARE aware of its existence are excited about it. Not all, obviously, but most. Personally, I've never understood the need to launch large marketing campaigns, or even put out trailers, 6 months or a year ahead of time. There's no real benefit; all it does is risk overexposure, i.e. people having seen two or three trailers so many times, plus 'exclusive clips' and whatnot, that they feel like they've either already seen half the movie by the time it's released, or they don't even want to see it anymore because they're so tired of hearing about it. I think it makes sense to start the advertising just a few months in advance; that's more than enough time to get the word out. Especially with genre movies; if someone doesn't like sci-fi movies, it doesn't matter how early or often they see a trailer, they still probably won't want to see it. Someone who DOES like sci-fi movies will only need to see it once or twice and it'll likely be on their radar. (Reply to this) |

Kimmycat24 writes: on Jul 21 2009 12:44 PM I am looking forward to Avatar, Alice In Wonderland, and 9. Unfortunately, I am not able to go to Comic-Con this year because I am unemployed. I desperately wanted to go last year, but I couldn't get off from work. Oh well, I will just have to settle for watching highlights on G4 TV. (Reply to this) |
