The novel is cinematic. Cronenberg misread it. Maybe you did too. And it is not faithful at all. Did you fall for Cronenberg's repeated statement that the dialogue is DeLillo's for being literal and faithful? It's a "floating sign" masking the emptiness of Cronenberg's understanding coupled with Pattinsin's face used as face porno and sexual perversion to get you into the box office. Total cynicism from Cronenberg but what else is new.
