Inspired by the pope's holy war against the infidels who have captured Jerusalem, two friends join the Christian crusade. But after seeing the horrors of war, their friendship splits apart -- and the next time they see each other, they're fighting on opposite sides. Alessandro Gassman, Johannes Brandrup, Thure Riefenstein, Barbora Bobulova, Karin Proia and Antonino Iuorio co-star in this epic costume drama set in the turmoil of the 11th century.
