The Curious Case of Benjamin Button leaves you colder than it should, and it shouldn't leave you cold at all.
I was profoundly disappointed with the way the writers dropped the ball at the end of the movie (from the point where they used another young actor and on). I felt they copped out when they could have done so much more (I don't want to give away the ending). It was almost as if they got tired of writing and said "Ok, let's just do this..." For me, it was the time of his life that I'd been waiting for for two hours plus.
And yes, what did Katrina have to do with anything?!?!

What do you mean what did Katrina have to do with anything?! She's Bennamin's motivation to leave and start his life over again at the end of the movie... did you fall asleep or something?

I think you're mixing up Katrina with Caroline..She was the reason for him to leave. I am not so sure either, what Katrina had to do with anything. Maybe Katrina was a symbol for 'nothing lasts', for how memories just get washed away.. maybe.

I do not want to say the movie is bad but the truth is that it really left me cold.

I think it was a reasonable ending. I mean, I didn't necassarily expect for a miracle cure to come along, and he's all of a sudden fine! That would be missing the moral of the story! I couldn't see it ending any other way. I actually felt "Thankful" after it finished.

Perhaps it is you that is cold.

This movie, to me was DOA when it started. They should have just let "Benjamin" die and save us all the agony of sitting through this too long downer of a movie.

I think you watched a different movie to me because you described it as bad... This was a thrilling and completely original tale which I couldn't imagine in a better way. I find it hard to see your perspective on the matter, but I know that thousands do disagree with you seeing that it was nominated for 13 Oscars! Also I feel that you just told us the outline of the story, rather than a good critical point of view! Next time do'nt give so much away - leave something for us, even if you don't like it doesn't me we can't!

I think this movie left people feeling "cold" because it shows the reality of life. We lose loved ones, and at some point, we all die, while loved ones mourn for US. I thought the ending was fantastic. The perspective it gave was great, by showing all of the wonderful people in his life and how they impacted him, and the world around them. It was a great way to wrap it up. I was left pondering the movie for days after I watched it. We all have great moments and sad moments in life, but we all want to watch movies that have perfect happy endings to help us escape from reality. I think this movie was insight into how to deal with the reality of the losses in our life by focusing on the positive impact we can leave behind. I think this movie deserved every nomination it got. It was definitely emotional and sad, but again, that's reality.

fully agree with Rachel B., only because this movie didn't have a nice sweet ending it got tagged as bas, really...i don't see any bad acting anywhere, the coldness of benjamin is natural...since he has grown the way he did!

I'm truely amazed so many people liked this movie. It was an ordeal for me to watch it. It seemed very contrived and I couldn't relate to anything in it. It wasn't such a bad start but it got grindingly bad by the end. Well that's my opinion anyway.I actually have used this movie since as a measure for other bad movies, I'm thankful to say there are few that got as bad as this for me.

I think the element of "growing old" is a cold and scary feeling. Clocks, time passing, and old age leave me with a feeling of coldness. I found it appropriate.
