After being... A stylish adaptation of Sheridan Le Fanu's classic 1864 gothic novel "Uncle Silas." Maud is an innocent 17-year-old girl who has just inherited a fortune from her deceased father. After being sent off to live in the creepy mansion of her mysterious Uncle Silas, she begins to suspect that he is up to no good. In addition to contending with her new guardian, however, she finds various other strange goings-on at her new home. Among the rather unusual people she encounters are her French governess, Mme. de la Rougierre, whom Maud finds dancing in the nearby cemetery. Because the teenager's late father once fired la Rougierre, Maud has good reason not to trust her either.
