A "Rom/Zom/Com" that has good intentions and has some nice jokes and sweet performances, but whose low budget is rather too obvious and story a bit bland (our zombie hero's quest to find his true love). Back-story and setup is pretty much non-existent and the film doesn't grapple with any particularly important questions, rather things are kept surface deep and concentration is more on sight gags and amusement than anything significant. The film makes fun of it's own silly ending ("give the audience what they want") and is endearing enough to become something of a cult film, but Evil Dead it most certainly isn't. Ross Kidder is damn hot though (even with greasy hair and rotting flesh makeup), more of him please.

I love this freaking movie! Very smart and funny.

Except for one badly deployed character, I liked this movie. It's a premise I haven't seen before and was executed fairly funnily (is that a word?).

Very silly, but deliberately so. The comical relief can get pretty annoying at times, but still remains funny overall. The over-the-top nature of the ending is really enjoyable.

For a low budget zombie comedy film, Deadheads is definitely a winner. Sure you could tell it was low budget, and yes, the story was a bit on the weaker side, but overall it was still very enjoyable.

Quoted as a Rom-Zom-Com, Deadheads is not your typical zombie movie. In this version, not all zombies are dumb and slow nor after brains. Some return as their normal selves in search for one thing: Romance.

Funny little low budget Zombie Comedy .. of course some stupid (airplane type) gags .. and is really just a way to enjoy 90 mins and not aspect too much . You will laugh so it's worth a rental

A pretty well made zombie/roadtrip comedy... Low budget effects but a good story and decent acting (for a silly comedy) lifts this movie beyond just OK.

A very brave attempt that mostly hits what it aims for. Sadly the plot aims rather low with a tired road trip/lost love story that makes little sense but is enough to move the story forwards. The big problem is in the supporting cast who just don't work and cant make anything special out of their oddball characters.. oh and some horrible green-screen early on which thankfully is soon dropped. Kinda fun in this age of genre deconstruction and fun for zombie fans but no-one else.

One line summary: Butch and Sundance as funny, smart zombies.
This zombie film starts after zombies are present in large numbers. The two lead characters, Mike and Brent, are somehow intermediate: they show signs of death and decay, but they can speak, think, enjoy beer, enjoy food, and make plans about the future. Mike finds an engagement ring in his pocket. He remembers Ellie, his fiance. Brent proclaims they should go find her; nothing is stronger than love, after all.
Mike and Brent are about to head off for Michigan from Colorado when the full-blown zombies attack the bar where they were having dinner. They pick up Cheese along the way. Cliff (zero percent zombie) gives them a ride; he's intending to go to Lake Michigan to spread his wife's ashes.
The cause of the zombie problem is a chemical spill. Someone or another decides to quarantine the area. The quarantine team consists entirely of idiots and incompetents. Cliff blows past the quarantine, but sleep is a problem; they let Cheese drive, and they run out of gas. The subsequent 'camping' in the woods is a ghost story fest, aided by weed. Mike works on his speech to Ellie, and Cheese kills a cop who shot Brent twice.
They use the cop's gas to continue. The vignette with the horror films at the drive-in was an interesting touch. The quarantine group recruits an escaped convict, Thomas, who likes to kill zombies. They get captured, but Cheese breaks them out. The scene with Mike being dragged for a few football fields was not all that funny. Cliff makes it to the shore of Lake Michigan, but he has already run out of his heart medicine, and dies watching the waves.
They make it to Mike's house, and Mike remembers that Ellie's father killed him in that same house. The reality of meeting Ellie comes to pass; their ten year reunion is that night, so he goes to it, so he can tell her how he feels.
He puts on a mascot costume, and talks to Ellie. The authorities drag him off; the next day, Ellie's father has a few more laughs at Michael's expense.
Thomas changes his mind, and decides to help Michael. Michael makes it to Ellie's house, but the chief idiot of the quarantine squad catches up.
What could possibly go wrong?
Cinematography: 9/10 Nice.
Sound: 10/10 Excellent.
Acting: 7/10 Could have been better.
Screenplay: 8/10 There were several funny moments, which is more than I can say for most films labelled comedy. The story hung together, once one suspends disbelief about smart zombies.

A resounding and thunderous "meh". Almost triumphant in a way.

This is a very funny movie that pokes fun at the zombie movie franchise. With some typical characters and unique story-lines this movie really adds up to a great fun movie. Go watch it on Netflix, just don't attend your high-school reunion as a zombie in a mascot uniform.

A guy wakes up confused and is soon surrounded by zombies. He meets another coherent person and they both realize they are undead as well, yet different than the others. After a few run-ins with live folk trying to defend themselves from the zombie hordes. Meeting a sympathetic human, they travel in search of the main character's lover with a secret government group in pursuit. Decent humor and some good references to classic horror films in this buddy roadtrip zombie romantic comedy. Sometimes hampered by the limited budget and bad acting, this film is better-than-average post "Shaun of the Dead"-fare. Watch with "Hide and Creep" and "Aaah! Zombies!!"

Laughed so hard at most of the scenes. Absolutely loved this movie. We were still talking about it in the morning.

While not particularly original, this still offers a high level of gore and a few laugh out loud moments

Saw this at Screamfest... really funny, great, fresh, unique concept.

In this day of easy low budget straight to video movies of any style (Especially horror or comedy), finding one that stands out is a long hard process. Deadheads is a gem to find. The characters are likable and funny as is the story. It's just a fun movie.

We watch a movie to be entertained right?! I was entertained! They're zombies with a heart, all mind you not beating, but you feel for them. It's a little horror, romance, it's comedy, it's silly, and it's damn good fun!
