Disappointing misfire, too bad, it has a terrific cast. Sigourney Weaver is the only bright spot in this movie however. It?s just not that funny, it?s pacing is very uneven, as are the laughs. It?s not without a few good scenes, but as a whole it just doesn?t work. It could have been a funny and biting satire, but is instead an oafish slapstick comedy with extreme characters and situations.

Great idea; so-so execution. Needed a script polish, better production and someone to replace Chase. An actor with comic sensibilities instead of a comic that thinks he can act.

William Friedkin's comedy is not so much a Chevy Chase vehicle as a armed missile launcher dud fizzling out before it reaches its target.

This movie almost works but it is just too silly at times. A near-miss.

Chevy Chase films are usually hit or miss. This film was a miss; big time. The plot was just plain stupid and made no sense. There were so many holes in the story. Chevy Chase was just not that funny at all and just plain boring at parts. There were a few scenes that were typical Chase, but in the end, just not that good. This goes on that list of typical bad 80s films.

This satire lacks any kind of bite or laughs. Chevy Chase plays himself but doesn't have the material to be funny.
