Vanessa gets a dose of reality when Philip, her one true love, ends their relationship, again. The quirky teen enrolls in his school to win him back, but ends up making matters worse. Downgraded to social outcast, Vanessa struggles to reclaim Phillip's affection. If 'Napoleon Dynamite' had had a bigger heart it may have turned out like this sweet and smart comedy about high school misfits.

The filmmaker knows how to gently skew reality just enough to offset the excess cuteness.

A spoonful of sugar, to say nothing of bright pastel colors and friendly bunny rabbits, helps the medicine go down in the sometimes ungainly but often winning prep school comedy Dear Lemon Lima.

A gifted cast of young actors and a darkly comic outlook make the charming "Dear Lemon Lima" anything but sour.

The debuting Suzi Yoonessi ably remains the right side of twee in turning her adolescent journal into a delightful misfit comedy.

Quirky coming-of-age dramedy is sweet, but strained.

Dear Lemon Lima is a quirky beauty of a film with its cotton-candy colors, Miranda July-esque sensibility, and its embracing of alienation as a source of creativity.

A meticulously constructed, organic comedy that passes along some enchanting flights of fancy, using its exquisite Alaskan settings to mold a unique personality that further enhances the viewing experience.

Audience Reviews for Dear Lemon Lima

Cute coming of age film. Very colorful and pretty to look at with nice little story to it. I got a little bored by the very end, but I am a little older than the target audience. It does have a slightly dark theme so I would think this is for a mid teen rather than a tween.
I liked the young cast and all the hair colours!
