The impetus for this deluge was a mail art-project entitled "Love Letters at Sixty," in which couples were encouraged to exchange letters expressing their affections. Taking prompts from the stories therein, DEAR MY LOVE follows a cross-section of Japanese couples in advancing years, exploring the quiet and sometimes passionate romances experienced by a single parent, a spouse battling illness, and a divorcee rediscovering love, among others.
