Audience Reviews for Death Collector (Tin Star Void)

Death Collector is the story of a future world where things have slightly disintegrated to a simpler time, where crime is up as well as the rise of a ruthless crime boss. For two brothers, one being a hard-nosed cop and the other a playboy musician, their lives change when Wade (Daniel Chapman, playing the musician) beds the crime boss's girl, causing his henchmen to try and kill him, only to kill Jake (Frank Stewart, playing the cop). Before Wade can fully take out his revenge, he's arrested and thrown in jail where he suffers a bit until the jail goes bankrupt and he's freed to a world where the crime boss controls everything and everyone is forced to have insurance in order to collect a payout by a certain age that NOBODY ever gets to. With that, Wade continues his attempt for revenge in this bizarre, super cheap film. Thanks to the low-grade quality (and budget), Death Collector's powerful message of insurance running and ruining lives is completely lost in this hokey film that appears as those it were done by a group of children. Though it was made in the late 80's, the film looks as though it were made much earlier than that. This comes off as sort of a an insult, but also a compliment has the film attempts to recapture that old grindhouse film era of the 70's & early 80's. As a whole, this film is a bit too goofy in the long run, with lots of confusing elements and cheap action/violence. Also, lots of sexuality but not a hint of nudity to be found, sadly. Lame film.
