Critic Review - TheMovieReport.com

Too bad it is difficult to really care about what is going on since such a thoroughly unpleasant character is at the center.

McManus

Kevin McManus

Harry is written as a pyschotic, neurotic prick who can't conceive how his actions affect those around him. All this considered, the story hinges on his success as a person and a writer, and the major conclusion is his breakthrough on the story he has never taken the time to care for: Himself. Watch the last scene during which his creations talk to him, and explain why they think his writing is important, and pertinent to the world around him. He is disconnected from reality and reinforces his delusional opinions through his own fictional characters. Only Woody Allen can envision and execute a masterpiece of this complexity and intellectual value.
