While struggling to get her stories published, Elena meets Lawrence, a successful American expatriate novelist who represents everything she wants in a man. The two begin a passionate romance, but he must suddenly leave her to go on a book tour of the United States. Left broken-hearted and without any money, Elena agrees to write explicit stories for an anonymous collector of erotica. In the process of creating these tales, she gets to act out some of her wildest fantasies. Meanwhile, Nazi troops prepare to invade France, threatening her already fragile situation. [More]
