In this quirky drama, Julian Goddard is stranded in the desert and dying of thirst when suddenly Johnny Destiny drives up and gives him a ride to the ramshackle Marilyn Motel near Las Vegas. There they meet the owner, Harry Thoreau, with whom Julian attempted to rob a bank three years before. A muddle from beginning to end. And Tarantino in small doses as an actor is fine. He's in this one much too much.
Pointless and utterly baffling.
Tarantino as an actor... Too bad he didn't write it. The script makes no sense.
Wildly uneven film that proves, if nothing else, Quentin Tarantino can't act.
Weinberg turns off the DVD player.
I know many people are critical of this movie, but I was in just the right state of mind when I saw it and it took me away to a place with alternate possibilities. Definitely not for everyone.
