Kim Suk-yoon becomes so heavy-handed in handling the issue of Christianity that the film winds up an infomercial for the religion, complete with syrupy strings playing on the soundtrack as poor believers are beaten by soldiers.

a delirious riot of odd-couple humour, political conspiracy, monster mayhem, over-the-top action and eighteenth-century detective work (complete with semi-anachronistic appearances of porn magazines, flashlights and even a Rubik's cube).
