Movie Info

Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Chun-yeung directed this energetic crime film concerning a battle for control between two competing triad gangsters. One is Hon San, whose men are much closer to mutiny than he knows, and the other is Chai Yan (Lau Siu-Ming), who is protected by his ruthless son Yuet (Ray Lui). There's a big shootout in an amusement park, also involving the police, which sets up the various treacheries throughout the film. Hon San's power-hungry lieutenant, Chiu Shing (Francis Ng), has Chai Yan murdered and tries to frame his employer for the crime, but Hon's beautiful daughter Bing (Moon Lee) plays some games of her own, conning the policewoman Madam Tong (Sibelle Hu) into rescuing Hon. Bing later joins Yuet and Madam Tong in battling Shing, leading to a literally explosive finale which proved injurious to Lui, Lee, and Hu, all of whom sustained burns while jumping from an exploding building for the scene. In a nod to the injury-outtakes common in Jackie Chan's films, Devil Hunters concludes with shots of newspaper articles chronicling the performers' burns. Michael Chan, Ken Lo, and Alex Man (cast once again as a police captain) co-star.more
