Critic Review - Seattle Post-Intelligencer

The film does a poor job of explaining the discipline or how it works, and naively takes the convicts' testimonials at face value.

"the job of explaining the discipline or how it works" depends on your own motivation. I have practiced several different forms of meditation and was not familiar with Vipassana. Thank God for the internet...and for the fact that, although I live in a very deep south city, I have been exposed to other forms of prayer, worship, spiritual development besides narrow-minded Christianity. Meditation has done wonders for me through the years and continues to do so. Christianity lost its mystical meditative side many centuries ago, except for isolated pockets.
