Critic Review - Princeton Town Topics

What ruins this revenge flick is Madea's boorish, bull in the china store act reminiscent of the sassy black woman stereotype popularized by Sanford and Son's Aunt Esther. Loud and ignorant, Medea tends to trivialize every scene.

Diary of a Mad Black Woman is a favorite of mine. I watch it often. I've also purchased most of his movie DVD's because of the comedy and truth element to his movies. As Mr. Perry has said...each of his characters are created with someone in his family in mine. I appreciate seeing people of color on screen and behind the screen directing.
