Willis Ponders "Die Hard 4" and "Another 16 Blocks"
by Scott Weinberg | April 06, 2006

ComingSoon.net has a piece of Bruce Willis quotage from an episode of Extra, and the always optimistic (yet aging) action star is still trying to breathe some life into Die Hard 4 -- plus he has some nifty new ideas on how to do a 16 Blocks 2.

"Bruce Willis, interviewed on the set of his new movie Perfect Stranger with Halle Berry, said he can't tell you what will come first: A sequel to 16 Blocks or a new Die Hard.

"They're both being written. We've to throw a few more 'old man' jokes in the Die Hard script, while we do that...we might bring Jack Mosley back".

He was asked whether it's true that Jessica Simpson auditioned for the role of his daughter in the Die Hard film. He laughed, saying, "Man, I don't know even know if that character is even in this version of the script anymore. I can honestly tell you that Bonnie Bedelia and Reginald VelJohnson, from the first films, are the only guys we've talked about bringing back. There has to be enough room in the scene for my walking cane"."

--

I'm a big Bruce Willis fan, but I think if the guy still wants to bang out a half-decent Die Hard installment, he better get his butt in gear now. Heck, if Stallone can resurrect Rocky at 60 years of age, then Willis can bring back a 52-year-old John McClane. Right?

I'll give Die Hard 4 a chance, but I don't know if 16 Blocks deserves a sequel.

Well, at least Willis is aware of his old age and what he's doing, so perhaps it'll turn out ok, or at least funny.

52 yrs. old is nothing...look at Harrison Ford! Bedelia and VelJohnson back? That's awesome if it happens...but no need for a 16 Blocks sequel. I liked the way it ended and a sequel would ruin that.

I loved 16 blocks, one of my favorites of all-time...yes thats how much i actually like the movie. Mos def really stole the show there, i enjoyed him in the movie. But they only should make a sequel if it has a way in which it doesn't kill the first movie. Otherwise, im up for it because watching 16 blocks was just pure fun, the way movies should be(not over the top but just right).

16 Blocks was great, can't wait for a second one to come out. Mos DEf was hillarious in the movie. Can't wait for Another 16 Blocks to come out.

Give a chance to both 16 blocks and die hard sequels. They're both great movies.

I think there's about as much chance of seeing "Another 16 Blocks" as there is a "Basic Instinct 3." "16 Blocks" better sell a helluva lot of DVDs if they're going to make a sequel, because it sure as hell hasn't done that well during its theatrical release.

In "Die Hard 4," they should bring back William Atherton as annoying reporter Dick Thornburg.

Please do Die Hard first, I've been waiting for a 4th one for way to long.

Please, Bruce, make 16 Blocks 2. 16 Blocks was great and is definatley in the upper half of your resume along with Tears of the Sun and Die Hard. Another Jack Mosley picture would be awesome. It truly does deserve a sequel, especially if Richard Donner is going to direct again. He did a great job with the first.
