I'd honestly like to know what the achievement in filmmaking was? Combining action with some big humane event isn't anything new, and the special effects were about the same things we've seen before in other films. I wish someone would explain to me how District 9 is in anyway an achievement in film making and not just another powerhouse film trying to make lots of profit off of people.

As to EZRAS HUGE REVIEWS, every is entitled to their own opinion and, if you don't mind me saying so, you pointing someone out and saying they have no taste makes me wonder if you will ever become an adult that's willing to accept another person's opinion. More so, I find it hypocritical that you are pointing him out on a movie that's about apartheid and human rights...

The problem with film critics is that they have to watch so many F'n movies, that they get very, very bored. Anything that's original, they will immediately praise just because they manage to stay awake thru the whole thing. This is a prime example. Critics love it b/c its different, but they don't realize how terrible it is. U never learn **** about the characters or understand the plot, but it's so different that it keeps brain dead critics on the edge of their seats. Bottom Line: This is a 2.5 star movie that gets by on a gimic. It has 45 mins of plot, and 45 mins of filler. Critics have lost touch with reality...and can't be trusted anymore.

ghostofandy, that's very funny coming from you. You gave Friday the 13th (the remake) a 8/10, yet this a 2/10. Come on. You are saying this didn't have any plot? Come on, get real. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

I agree. This film is great. Raven H, remember that everyone has their opinions, they aren't facts. (Democracy applies though)
