"District B13" Sequel Yes, American Remake No
The Luc Besson produced "District B13" made such waves in Hollywood, introducing Parkour as a new martial arts style, that studios immediately wanted to make it their own. Besson, however, said no to a remake.

Magnolia Digs Into the Crayon Box
You probably know Magnolia Pictures as the distributor of foreign/arthouse fare like "District B13," "Bubble," and "Capturing the Friedmans" -- but there's no good reason they can't get into the Family Movie game. They recently bought the U.S. rights to Exodus Film's "The Hero of Color City," which is about a bunch of heroic... crayons.

Trailer Bulletin: District B13
One of the most entertaining action flicks I've seen in a year or two is the frenzied French import known as "District B13," which will hit limited release (thanks to Magnolia Pictures) on June 2nd. You might have to wait for the DVD release, but if you dig quick-paced and mega-kinetic action schtick, then you'll dig this movie. Meanwhile, IGN FilmForce has the trailer.

SXSW Promises Vendettas, Betties, Dreamz & Slithers
In addition to a ton of low-budget, independent, documentary, and dramatic films, this year's South By Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival promises a rather flashy infusement of high-end studio fare, too! So while it's always important to shed some attention on the little guys (which we'll be doing soon enough), it's also fun to note that SXSW will be offering high-end "gimme" titles like "V for Vendetta," "The Notorious Bettie Page," "American Dreamz," and the geekily-anticipated "Slither."
