Only a few short years ago, Shia LaBeouf was just another Disney Channel tween actor hoping to make the leap from a family sitcom to the big screen. These days, he's leading a master class in how to build a grown-up career, as evidenced by star turns in Disturbia and Transformers and his upcoming performance in Indiana Jones IV. Now, MTV Movies is reporting he could go from boy to man to the man.

Awaiting the arrival of their webslinging hero, North American audiences avoided the multiplexes and held onto their money rejecting the slate of new releases that Hollywood dumped into theaters. That allowed the hit suspense pic "Disturbia" to retain its number one position for the third consecutive weekend despite the fact that the overall box office tumbled to its worst showing of 2007.

LaBeouf Says "Not so Fast" to "Indy 4"
It quickly went from intriguing rumor to (seemingly) certified fact, but as the latest IGN dispatch from SXSW reminds us, it's never smart to count your Shias before they LaBeouf -- according to the "Disturbia" star, reports that he has signed on to play Indiana Jones' son in next year's "Indiana Jones IV" are false:
"It's nuts. It's like these rumors are spiraling out of control," proclaimed LaBeouf.
