Divine Enforcer Reviews

This is like watching a Father Ted Christmas special on Acid. A Priest turns up from out of nowhere and starts erasing the scum from the streets. It also contains the greatest cast ever assembled Jim Brown, Robert Z' Dar, Jan-Michael Vincent and Frank Poncherello from CHiPs, but it is one man who steals every single scene. That man is Mr. Don Stroud, who takes the balls to a whole new level. This sick fuck of a serial killer uses a human skull to eat his corn flakes.

Before the boondocks saints popularised catholic vigitilantism. There was "The Divine Enforcer". Not only does the Divine Enforcer takes down the mob, he also catches an vampiric serial killer.

With Eric Estrada representing the old dusty catholic hierarchy. Michael Foley from Airwolf, represents the up and coming catholic renewal movement, kicking asses and helping the community.

A man posing as a priest comes to a tough LA parish and brutally spreads the Good Word to strip club operators, drug dealers, and a serial killer. Great premise is hampered by poor production values and subpar serial killer storyline. Serial killer role has to be a low point for Don Stroud, normally a fine character actor. Jan Michael Vincent doesn't quite look comfortable in his clergy attire but he basically is only asked to read the newspaper in a few scenes despite top billing.

A newly assigned priest--an expert in hand-to-hand combat--takes a very proactive role in delivering God's will to a tough L.A. parish. It's not the type of training you get in most seminaries. Great premise unfortunately brought down by a 'vampire' serial killer plot and low production standards. Interesting cast, to say the least, featuring Jan-Michael Vincent as a priest(!) who frequently drops in for breakfast.
