Why would I get angry at Tarantino? I applaud him for actually depicting how racist Americans were back in those times. I think people who are upset about how much the word "nigger" is used in this movie should blame their ancestors, not Tarantino.
Christoph Waltz made the whole movie tbh. I'm not sure that Jamie Foxx was suited for the role imo. Good movie nonetheless and will be suggesting it to anyone and everyone who's a fan of Tarantino. And if you are not a fan then get out my face.
I enjoyed this movie...were you to not enjoy this movie, you might consider increasing your knowledge of this country's institution of slavery in the past...you may have been too busy being educated or shown a different side to find yourself "entertained".
Probably because they didn't see it. I'd understand if they feel that other Tarantino flicks surpass Django; I for one am a big fan of Inglourious. His films are always a great subject to discuss. However, if anybody truly saw Django and hated it for any reason other than an inteligent idea that is well pondered, then they're idiots. Plain and simple.
My wife and I went to see this movie because of the cast. It appeared the movie tried to portray the horror of slavery but falls instead into gutter violence. This movie promotes racial violence at its worst. After all, shooting white people and getting paid for it? Can't get any better than that. Not just white people but white Americans because Django knows more about Americans than his German patron. I hope when a black Jared Lougher or Wade Michael Page walks into an establishment and opens fire on the white people there, these so called entertainers get their collective asses pulled into a senate hearing and then into court.
he was getting paid to kill criminals who were fugitives from the law. show a movie where it portrays the horrors of slavery and the violence from white slave owners on their black slaves its a good historical flick. show a movie where one of those slaves decides to react with the same violence shown him and his people .. its a movie that promotes racial violence. interesting logic.
"Fake blood"? You know that real blood isn't used when making movies. Unless someone volunteers to donate a quart of their blood for the film...but I doubt it.
Yeah, I wondering if I saw the same movie as the reviewers. There was not nearly enough balance to this movie. Outside of the klan hood scene I don't think I laughed once. Instead I was treated to the a steam of violence and the under utilization of Foxx and Waltz. I am not new to QT but the violence in this seemed so much more real to me. I understand that his honesty regarding slavery was important, but I just wished he had balanced it out somehow. It was just too heavy.
Maybe Jamie Foxx should have stayed in your bedroom closet and not have been paid millions to cast in a shitty movie. He'd still be sucking your dick and you'd be a whole lot nicer to people in your replies.
what the hell are you talking about, i wasnt talking about the movie fritz, i was talking about a person's decency. you sir are out of your element, leave the conversation
well if you want to learn about racial sensitivity .. ask a white guy. thats been our problem as colored folk .. we keep forgetting to ask the white people whats an acceptable way to behave.
You know, the way I look at it, not saying the n word many times would be taking the film out of context. Actually slavery, was far worse on every level. And, the idea the main character doesn't turn into MLK at the end like "Chicken George" in roots, not punishing the man who terrorized his family. Enough of that crap. What about Nat Turner, one of the noted blacks who took up arms against slave holders in the south. What about Fredrick Douglas, who killed his over seer before escaping slavery to the north, teaching himself to speak and write, and becoming one of the most prolific speakers for the abolition of slavery. All of this doesn't fit into the racist narrative that we as americans have long been taught about the docile negro begging for his freedom. What about John Brown, a white man who tried to do the same thing the Nat Turner did. We are taught to believe a certain narrative about slavery..I congratulate Quentin and all the actors and production people involved involved for going pass the usual narrative. The untold narrative even in a film that is not a historical document.
Really because one person didn't like it? Someone who didn't give an exact argument as to why he did not like it other than a simple racial slur? You're really gullible.

I'm sorry that you Americans liked to call black people "niggers" back in the day. Blame your ancestors, not Tarantino.
