the simple fact that i hated Steven(character) in the film was the fact that Samuel L Jackson did a bad ass job!!

Samuel L. Jackson clearly deserved the Supporting Actor award over Christoph Waltz. What Jackson accomplished was far more difficult and successful. I felt the same about DeNiro's performance in Goodfellas. But Oscars are political, and I don't diminish Pesci's nor Walz's performance.
