Although it starts out somewhat bland, as the season progresses and the ideas are made more clear, Dollhouse emerges as a smart, sexy, action-packed techno-drama.
A smart pseudo-anthology vehicle for Dushku to spread her wings (not unlike the way Quantum Leap showcased Scott Bakula's versatility) with a touch of The Prisoner in the dark overtones of the show's ongoing mythology. [Blu-ray]
The series was a slow starter... [but] developed into one of the most intriguing shows of the 2009 season.
The show neglects the steak in favor of the sizzle, allowing its numerous difficulties to ultimately doom whatever noble intentions it might have realized.
This show is a dream on so many different levels. For one, it's an actor's dream, because they can be a doctor, a lover, a spy, an assassin, or maybe just someone there to help someone that can't help them self. Read the full review at: http://darbyssecretstash.com/2009/09/24/dollhouse-season-1/
