Sam Raimi, Clive Barker, More At Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors
Summary
Are you in the L.A. area and dying to meet your favorite masters of horror, science fiction, film, and television? Then the L.A. Convention Center is where you'll want to be this weekend (April 17-20) for the 24th annual Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors -- otherwise known as Fango Con -- to preview the latest indie and studio horror flicks, see legendary casts reunite, and meet filmmakers like Sam Raimi, Ron Perlman, Tobe Hooper, Hershell Gordon Lewis, Jordan Ladd, and Sybil Danning. See how you can attend and get the full line-up (which , ahem, includes a live performance by Corey Haim) after the jump. Back to Article

Tyrant writes: on Apr 17 2009 09:55 PM Drag Me to Hell looks pretty damn good, doubt it'll be on the level of The Evil Dead's/Evil Dead 2/Army of Darkness greatness, but I imagine it'll still be great. (Reply to this) |

Chris B. writes: on Apr 18 2009 11:18 AM even if drag me to hell isn't as great as those movies it'll be the best horror movie to come out in years compared to what else hollywood has to offer. (Reply to this) |

Tyrant writes: on Apr 18 2009 02:33 PM In reply to this comment (#2430127) Setting the bar high, aren't we? :P Hollywood hasn't put out a good horror movie for god knows how long... Don't think there's been one that isn't torture porn that's any good for at least 10 years. (Reply to this) |

Eric s. writes: on Apr 18 2009 07:36 PM Clive barker's movie's sincerly creep me out. Not alot of horror films do that. Just the Religous/Heaven and Hell and the bible references that he uses just scare the willies out of me. He truly does write and make very dark art. He claims to believe in God and the Bible but critizes organized religons. (Reply to this) |

blattman writes: on Apr 19 2009 11:56 AM In reply to this comment (#2430974) You can believe in God and still dis organized religion. How many are there? Are all of them right? Are any of them right? Yet the common link of God exists in pretty much all of them. Back to point, I will see Drag me to hell just because it is Sam Raimi. (Reply to this) |

HyperionChild writes: on Apr 20 2009 05:53 AM Clive Barker has been very open on his position w.r.t. God and Organized Religion. Novels like "Imajica" and "Everville" only hint at his beliefs on these topics; but his interviews and forewords/ afterwords make it much plainer. There was a great Author's Note in "Sacrement" which links his ideas about God and Humanity to his writing. (Reply to this) |
