the studio seized it from the director and made major edits and cuts to the final print: the director was, as expected, extremely displeased.

pretty much the entire cast hated what the studio did to the film and they refused to promote it. even the trailer, released by the studio, shows not one but all of the film's plot twists.

so ya, if it seemed like this movie had any potential (which it really did) blame Morgan Creek Productions. heavy cuts, changes, and even the ineptly done trailer were done by them
