Here is still another illustration of the old Hollywood noir principle that a movie lives its life not through its hero, but within its shadows.
Outstanding review, looking forward to checking this out in a couple of days.

Well, I'm sold. Can't wait to see it.
Sep 15 - 10:51 AM
Not meaning to be "that guy", but Mr. Ebert gave it a 3.5, not a 4.
Sep 15 - 09:19 PM
I think he changed it from a 4 to a 3.5.... very strange
Sep 15 - 10:17 PM
he certainly did. typo maybe
Sep 16 - 12:26 AM
not a 4/4 rt. geez guys make an effort.

Mr. Ebert is still the best & most informative film reviewer that exists!!!

Adam Di Giorgio
I love Roger. He always considers every aspect before he makes his final remark. He's a critic who knows he's a critic.
Sep 17 - 08:33 PM
Great movie. Solid review.
Oct 18 - 05:12 PM
Another solid review by Ebert. Gotta respect his talents considering there are "anti" critics out there like S. Kaufmann writing shi*ty, warped, & just plain old badddd reviews.

I LOVED this film!
Feb 25 - 05:26 PM
I loved Drive, like Mr. Ebert, but I just can't trust him. He's the only person in the whole world who gave movies such as A Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket bad reviews. And those are Kubrick classics! Entertained guaranteed films.
Mar 25 - 04:21 AM
And especially Reservoir Dogs
Mar 29 - 05:52 PM
Reservoir Dogs wasn't made very well, but Roger had nothing but respect for it, claiming (successfully) that Tarantino would be huge in time.
Jun 14 - 01:05 PM
Honestly, Full Metal Jacket is NOT as amazing as some say. The first half was completely amazing, and fascinating. The second was like pretty much any other war movie though.
