Awards Tour: People's Choice Winners Announced!

You have spoken! And you love sparkly vampires!

The 2011 People's Choice Awards ceremony have revealed their winners. They include a Twilight enterprise as Favorite Movie and Zac Efron as Favorite Star Under 25, an award that we're sure Efron has won a million times before, though if not, this was his year and he so totally deserved it. Again, we emphasize that these awards come from the people (all of you!), giving voice to the voiceless, the downtrodden, the commoners way too ugly to appear on a very large theater screen. If, for some insane reason you take umbrage with any of these choices or winners, what the hell, you big outcast weirdo.

Twilight won four and beat out Inception for No.1? well we all knew the People's Choice awards were B.S.

Also, 1st post, I think

Inception wasn't that great either.

It's "people's choice," so unless each movie has the exact same number of fans, then the results will be skewed toward the one with the most that voted. Obviously, more fans of twilight voted than fans of the other movies. It's as simple as that. You can take it to mean that either twilight has more fans, or only the twilight fans took the most time to vote. Is it biased? DUH

Or maybe the people just don't know what a good movie is. I always thought that a person, singular, is smart, but people as a whole are stupid. Grown Ups and Twilight winning choice awards might prove my theory.

aaaand this is the reason why people shouldn't have choices.

This is sad, sad evidence of why we don't (or shouldn't) take these awards seriously.

This is also why you have to be 18 years old to vote [although even that doesn't always turn-out well]

Actually, the "only" people who do have time to vote are 18 year olds and younger! I as an adult will never vote for this even if the opportunity was there since there are probably more important things I rather do or have to do than to waste time hoping my vote would even be acknowledged! Any political election is proabably the most important than to vote on any award show regardless of what it is!

I think he actually was talking about voting in political elections. I can't imagine that a voting pool of exclusively adults would pick Twilight for Best Picture. Point being (as I see it), if we open up political elections to minors, the same people voting for Twilight, Grown-Ups, etc., then everything blows up.

Are you sure that you have to be 18 to vote? I thought those green things were rotten tomatoes but realized that they're actually boogers flicked on the screen by the voters!

I completely agree with all of you. The only decision that I agree with is Toy Story 3 for Family Film, and I have no opinion on Horror since I don't watch horror films.

Favorite Movie (should have been Toy Story 3 or Inception)
Drama (Inception or The Social Network)
Comedy (Easy A or even Date Night)

Add this award show to my growing list of television boycotts.

What a stupid awards organisation! Twilight for favourite movie? C'mon man!!! I think that the minimum age for voting should be 25 then we might not see the Twilights winning any more. Heck, make the minimum age 30. lol

Sometimes I feel bad about being all haughty and condescending about the majority of society's taste in media, but then I see a list like this and I don't feel so bad anymore.

It's like the lowest rated choice in every category won!?

Agreed.

Jan 6 - 10:31 PM

Bye bye

Steven Bailey

It's almost as if the voters intentionally picked the worst possible nominee in each category, with the exception of a few categories like best family film and best actor.

And the favorite actress category sucks from top to bottom.

The People Choice Awards are just worthless crap like the Teen Choice Awards or any awards show with the word choice.

Look at the Teen Choice Awards. You get a surfboard for winning and if you were a previous winner and you won again, you are also winning another surfboard. Why would you need a Teen Choice Award for?

This is what I feel about our current state of our society. We are becoming narrowed-tasted biggots and growing more stupider than ever.

Here's a thing:
- If Twilight wins a Best Movie Award in another awards contest voted by people, turn off your TVs now, rent a DVD and never hear that award contest again because Twilight is such an abomination voted by a majority of pre-teen female drones.

really twilight. yup this really shows how people are becoming more simple minded. The peoples choice is like rewarding a kid for doing something bad. its not helping. its just sad that people would rather see rubbish that actual compelling heart-felt movies.

whats that, i see the end of humanity. its near. thank goodness.
