An original movie, though not Tim Burton's best.
So you give it a rotten merely because it's not his best? God, you are one of the worst critics ever.

AN ORIGINAL CRITIQUE, THOUGH NOT YOUR BEST.
Jul 2 - 08:41 PM
Pretty stupid reason to give it a rotten rating.

I agree not his best. But still burton is a directorial genius. And this movie proves that.

the comments here are so unbearably stupid.
why don't you, in all the greatness of your intelligence, read the review and see for yourselves why rosenbaum (my favourite critic and i love this movie) doesn't really like it.
Jun 2 - 03:18 PM
That seems to be your catchphrase.
Jun 23 - 08:39 PM
I did read the rest of the review as a result of the greatness of your intelligence. It sucked.

Tim Burton was never the finest of directors on the planet, nor is he all that interesting to read about in the tabloids. I like this film just fine, but to argue this isn't his "best" is to debate of his greatness and which of his films is the best, which, if you ask me, I clearly don't think anything after this was very good. Ed Wood might truly be his only great film.

Tim Burton was always an amazing director. This film IS one of his best (just like everything else he's made).

Guillermo Robles Granados
This is the worst critic I've seen before stupid
Jul 26 - 03:29 PM

Not one of his BEST????? REALLY? man I've seen EVERY SINGLE Burton film and can say that next to bat man returns this is one of the..truer Burton style films. Like THIS IS Burton. Also how is it not his best? It obviously is to him cause it was so important to him to do this film that he decided to SHELVE,for the time being, Batman Returns and PERMANENTLY shelve a follow up to Beetlejuice..I don't know how this isn't his best if he's willing to do that.
Feb 29 - 07:34 PM
obviously, it's not Tim Burton's best, that would be Ed Wood, but this is still a really good movie, nonetheless

Someone tell me what is considered his best film then. I enjoyed Ed Wood a lot, and love this movie, but think pretty much all of his other movies are bad. You can tell that Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood were really personal films to him, and they felt very sincere. I think every one of his later films (except for Sweeny Tood maybe) have been there just to profit from this group of 12-17 year old teenagers who think that they are unique and dark, and see everything he makes. This is precisely why if you ask someone like that what their favorite Tim Burton film is, they will say "The Nightmare Before Christmas".... which is NOT a Tim Burton film. I hope he decides to make more films like this opposed to bullshit like Dark Shadows and Alice in Wonderland.
May 26 - 09:51 AM
TECHNICALLY, it is. Nightmare Before Christmas was written by, and PRODUCED by Tim Burton. Not entirely, of course, but when someone produces a movie, that gives them the right to put "A So-and-So Film," or "So-and-So Presents" before it. An example, the movie Gremlins was produced by Steven Spielberg, which is why it says "Steven Spielberg Presents Gremlins" and why the trailer says "A Steven Spielberg Film." He didn't direct it, but it is TECHNICALLY his movie. This is also why A Nightmare Before Christmas is, "Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas." He created the story and the characters, and produced it; the ONLY reason you say it isn't his movie is because he didn't direct it.
Now, that my little rant is over, I love Edward Scissorhands, though I respect other opinions about it.
Aug 24 - 01:47 AM
I would like to correct myself, in that, the Gremlins trailer does not say, "A Steven Spielberg Film." But that does not void my argument. I just wanted to correct myself before someone else did.
Aug 24 - 02:42 AM
Inception, Dark Night, Batman Begins, Memento, The Usual Suspects, and now Edward Scissor Hands? Jeez, you make a better movie you steven hawking lookin muffucka.
Jul 12 - 06:18 PM
I have to disagree. It is one of the best!
