burton has done well with 'nightmare' and other musical efforts, so par for the couse for a decent adaption. i just hope it's worth it.

Sweeny Todd is actually an excellent musical, especially for people who don't like musicals. It's fast-paced, exciting, dark, and doesn't fall into a lot of the cutesy traps that other musicals have--my only concern is if they stretch out the dialogue for the movie it may harm the pace. Is Burton's going to be a musical or not? It would be a shame if they didn't--the music is great, and right up Burton's alley.

you probably don't want to do it, but if you want to get a TINY taste of Sweeny Todd, rent Kevin Smith's "Jersey Girl" in which they perform a song from it. It's not a totally bad movie, it grows on you.
I can't wait for this! I heard rumors of it awhile back, and now I know it's true!

This sucks I was really looking forward to Ripley. Both of my Jim Carrey movies aren't happening now which really sucks. Another Burton, Depp will be tight though, I must say my favorite is Sleepy Hollow, I never have seen Ed Wood though. Oh yea and I thought that Jersey Girl was a good movie, a charming father, daughter story.
