Able direction. Shoestring story. Mixed-bag script devoid of much logic. Sallu throwing around his charisma. Kats showing some expressions here and there but generally is hammy as always, despite looking like a million bucks, as always. Fantastic supporting turns by Girish Karnad and Ranvir Shorey. Exotic locales, as always in a yrf film. First Indian film shot in Cuba, I guess. Bourne-ish action, mostly well executed, though stunt doubles aren't that difficult to spot. Decent music. Audience going mad at the drop of a hat. Yeah, I guess that sums it up.

Compared to the very few Bollywood Spy films, this is undoubtedly one of the best spy movies.

A good Salman Khan movie that actually has a Story and with good direction.

Watched first day first show of 'Ek Tha Tiger' :) One of the best opening scenes (before this saw such magic in Pukar, starring Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit), cool fight sequences, Katrina Kaif's action scenes are a pleasant surprise, kinda OK romantic scenes - in fact boring at times, no passion between the leading actors which completely disagrees with the storyline. Salman Khan has immense star power.

just an average spy thriller which sucks in its second half

Sometimes you just gotta let go and enjoy a good, fun movie. Khan is your typical action hero doing typical action here stuff, he carries the movie. Katrina Kaif handles her action and music scenes well but her acting is phoned in.Comedy and music transcend cultural barriers for non- Indian audiences. If you like Bond you'll love Tiger. Just a fun ride.

As always, cheap action and a copied story of the movie, in titled "In Time".

Just watched Ek Tha Tiger phew i was expecting something and i am got different well look if you are a person(Like me) raised on daily doses of Hollywood movies especially borne series and James bond movies and expect salman to do Matt demon you will be pissed off like i was seeing the movie But if ur person who hardly watches Hollywood(sometimes in dubbed Hindi ) movies and are die hard masala film Bollywood fan then you will enjoy this movie(of course u must be die hard sallu fan) otherwise India is a poor country 50% of the population earn below 40rs and this movie's budget is 70-80 crs whoop precious money wasted in this poor country only saving grace in the movie is katrina kaif and beautiful locations

'Ek Tha Tiger' (There once was a tiger) wins a game and loses another.

In terms of being a 'Spy who loved me' story, it is more humane and more fun than many Bond movies, including the latest, Skyfall. It moves from Delhi-to-Dublin-Istanbul-to-Havana etc with decent grace, some action, and a lot of humor. No breathtaking roof-top motor cycle chases though, which was the main and only draw of Skyfall.

But if it was trying to recreate the magic of 'Dabangg', it doesn't quite get there, even though it does make a good attempt at it.

Quite commendable over all.

Not bad for a Salman Khan movie. I mean any day better than "Bodyguard" and "Ready".

Salman and Katrina have great chemistry and are brilliant as a pair.

Direction was good enough. Kabir Khan has done a decent job but the stunts are some what unbelievable especially the "train scene". The location for the movie was beautiful. The direction of his previous two movies were much better "Newyork" and "Kabul Express".

Music was acceptable. But when will Indian music directors stop copying stuff from Hollywood movies? Did anyone realize that they have ripped off the intro and background score of "Forrest Gump"?

Anyways, overall, not a bad movie.

Ek tha Tiger (Hindi) - Lovely spies on the lam

A maverick superstar riding "extremely" high on his recent successes and a production house that has more to boast than it's illustrious legacy. When these two powerful forces come together for the first time, one can't expect anything less than "onscreen fireworks" and "sheer magic". Salman is synonymous with Ramadan and one has to get a taste of his own "Eid release" along with the usual trappings of Haleem.

Eid-ul-Fitr means breaking the fast for festivity and Salman has been creating/breaking records every consecutive Eid and there by adding his own zing to the festivity.

Plot:

Tiger / Manish Chandra / Avinash Singh Rathode (Salman Khan) is an undercover agent for Indian intelligence bureau RAW. Being the best espionage brain of the agency, Tiger juggles around the world battling down on evil forces. On one such "observatory" mission in Istanbul he comes across Zoya (Katrina Kaif) and his mind takes a backseat. Love is in the air until a shocking revelation about Zoya sets the stage for a wild goose chase between the couple and their respective posse. Who is Zoya? What is the revelation? How the lovely couple come across battling all the odds? - This is the crux of the film.

Analysis:

First half sets the stage for the entire plot but "love" between the leading pair dominates more than anything. Just when you feel the itch to jingle with your keys or to have a nap comes the interval block. From there on the film is an expected adrenaline rush with adequate doses of action, love, romance and sentiment. A first look in to the film's trailer projects itself as an action dominated film but predominantly it's a love story glazed with thrills and espionage.

Superstar Salman Khan was his usual brawny best. His choice of films is commendable especially after "Wanted". He elevates every frame of the movie with his dominating screen presence. Be his bing bang introduction, legibly & sensibly underplayed love episodes, scenes demanding emotional quotient and the usual thrills and frills - Salman was at his best. His comic antics were supposed to be more tickling than hilarious and he managed this balance really well. He could surpass Kat's grace in each and every frame and wonder what the man does in his late 40's to look that way. He gets to bare his body just once and one cannot help but notice his toned down physique compared to his earlier films. This might have helped him look more swift and viral in the action episodes.

Katrina Kaif does enough justice to her role but she could have emoted in a much better fashion. As a woman struggling between "farz" and "ishq" she was savvy enough but lots of unnecessary glycerine at the same time. Ranvir Shorey as Gopi and Girish Karnad as Shenoy are just about enough.

Positives:

Salman Khan, love between the duo and racy second half

Negatives:

First half lag in the name of love.

Overall - one cannot expect more from an action thriller with usual doses of love and sentiment. The film might appeal to all classes of audience given it's romantic first half and action dazzling second half. Given the release timing the film might laugh it's way to the bank and we'll get to know more financials in the days to come.

Tail piece:

Salman has always been a lover boy in Bollywood but he kind of lost it in between for an extended period of time. Slowly, film by film, he's getting back to his pinnacle point and it's clearly visible in his script selection and their ensuing results (financially and otherwise). While Dabaang portrayed him as a rustic (both in love and action) and Bodyguard was more subtle - Ek Tha Tiger pushed him to be more pleasant. Usual commercial accoutrements are still intact for Salman Bhai.

Entire movie and it's success is all because of blind salman khan Fans. Was the movie that good, NO. Movie was mediocre, stunts were C grade, Body doubles that were used to do the stunts were visible and recognizable. Cinematographer, did use the locales as much as he could off used. All and all, it wasn't all that as people went crazy about.

Almost all the scenes are unintentionally funny to someone who is not a salman khan fan. I had a good time laughing at everything in the movie.

Painfully overrated. Positives: exotic visuals, action sequences Negatives: frivolous plot line and poorly written characters

The Most awaited Movie of the year 2012, Yash Raj Films First Project with Salman Khan seems to entertain me much, its average script, commendable performance and Good direction that Makes Ek tha Tiger a movie worth watching.

A few people said that this film could have been better but i found it better than expected, so I'm not complaining.

Overall, it's a Hollywood-style "James Bond" kind of action film with Indian elements but not close to Shah Rukh Khan's "DON 2" which was more to the Hollywood type but Ek Tha Tiger's main key is the strong romance, other than romance, there are nice additions like humor but barely visible. Entertainment is what people want and i think that's what you get out of this film.

You may be persuaded into the Salman fan club after seeing this. I certainly was,

The surprising twists n turns in the story (reminds me of RACE), perfectly timed punches and very well executed fight sequences will make you change your opinion. For Salman Khan and Katrina fans, its a must watch.

A Salman Khan movie? What do you expect than a cheezy love story that doesnt have a strong story line. Ofcourse its copied from the Bourne series, but Salman Khan has the capability of messing any good movie with his bad acting. Enuff said. I couldnt watch more than an hour into the movie so cant comment anymore.

Ek Tha Tiger directed by Kabir Khan is an average action flick with great performance by Salman Khan. The movie has the same love story, which has been the story of thousands of Hindi movies. But the difference here it is the love story between two agents belong to entirely different nations. The movie is not a must-watch but can be watched if you have nothing to do!
