A barely elevated telenovela.

Too bad the acting is uneven. And the ineptly done English subtitles will have you laughing in all the wrong places.

Director Gonzalo Justiniano beautifully captures the fishing village but never quite captures the story.

Does a fine job of building up a sense of dread as its adulterous relationship gathers steam. So it's all the more disappointing when the movie ultimately collapses.
