Will Ferrell Refuses "Elf 2" and "Old School 2"
There's been a few rumors flying around lately that Will Ferrell might be doing another "Elf" and will almost definitely being doing another "Old School." Well, the actor roundly denied both rumors, and did so in typically amusing fashion.

"Iron Man" to Touch Down in May of '08
Over at the official MySpace blog, director Jon Favreau clued us in on one important piece of the puzzle: "Iron Man" will hit theaters in May of 2008. That's pretty much it, news-wise, but it's not too often you see a Hollywood movie director starting forum threads like "Who would you guys like to see cast as Iron Man"?

Poster Parade: "Zoom," "Bug" & "Guardian"
It's not too often I find myself looking forward to a Tim Allen comedy, but this one's about superheroes and also stars Courteney Cox, Rip Torn, and ... Chevy Chase (!), so consider me mildly curious. You can start creating your own opinion by checking out the just-released poster for the flick.

The Hollywood Reporter indicates that "Elf" & "Zathura" director Jon Favreau will be behind the helm (early next year) on the long-awaited big-screen rendition of "Iron Man."

Dinklage to Play "Underdog" Villain
Peter Dinklage, indie-centric actor best known for his work in "The Station Agent" and "Elf," has been tapped by Disney to play the villain in the studio's upcoming live-action rendition of the classic "Underdog" cartoon.

"Terabithia" Starts Production Down Under
ComingSoon.net shares with us a press release from the workaholics over at Walden Media, and the newest news is this: Production has already begun on Walden & Disney's "Bridge to Terabithia," a sprawling fantasy adventure inspired by the works of author Katherine Paterson. Flick's got a pretty solid cast & crew lined up, too.

After years of on-again, off-again production discussions, Paramount has hired a director to helm an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' well-admired "John Carter of Mars" story -- and it's everyone's favorite old "Swinger," Jon Favreau.

Screenwriter Hired to Pen a Second "Elf" Adventure
Screenwriter Scot Armstrong, who co-wrote "Old School," "Road Trip," and "Starsky & Hutch" (as well as an uncredited re-write on "Elf") has been tapped by New Line to pen a sequel to the Will Ferrell Christmas comedy. And while Mr. Ferrell is not signed up for the follow-up just yet, New Line honcho Toby Emmerich is clearly not going to move forward without his curly-haired leading man.

Courteney Cox to "Zoom" into Superhero Flick
Variety brings news of the next project for former "Friends" star Courtney Cox. The blue-eyed beauty will co-star opposite Tim Allen in "Zoom," a superhero comedy adventure which is based on Jason Lethcoe's graphic novel "Zoom's Academy for the Super Gifted."
