We wanted to make a gigantic action-adventure movie." To address online speculations about whether the film is similar to other films, like FernGully: The Last Rainforest or Avatar, Wedge said: "I hate to associate it with other movies. It is adventure on the scale of Star Wars. And it does immerse the audience completely in a world like Avatar. But it has its own personality."


This is what the director of this movie has said in an interview.

I believe he also said that this movie was the absolute best work he could possibly do. I know that sounds nice in theory but thats not exactly a very smart thing to say unless you know for a fact that your film is going to be universally loved, which Epic is not.

"For those of you who don?t know, when Max was admitted last week, the commercial for ?Epic? came on. Ever since then, he had been asking if he could go to the movie. I told him if he ever left the hospital, I promised to take him.

I don?t know who heard it or who made it happen? but calls were made and the movie was flown in to him at the hospital. The movie isn?t even out yet, and it was brought here. Literally, there was a lady who flew in with the movie, sat outside while we watched it, and then was going to fly it back to Los Angeles!

Even though Max was unable to enjoy the movie completely as he is unable to see (he can hear but he?s so tired/on medication he can?t keep his eyes open), he was able to hear it. I sensed he was hearing it when he would moan a bit or breathe heavy. I?m so glad Fox and the magical people at Dell were able to make it happen!

After the movie, we were asked if we could speak to the director and let him know how we liked the movie. They dialed him in immediately and we were able to speak to him directly. WOW! We are so grateful he agreed to the request. People are truely moving mountains for Max."
