I think it is wonderful that you have highlighted the key fact of education, that rather than make informed decisions based on evidence, we should instead just decide for ourselves if we want the world around us to be based on reason or mythology. Maybe if we could push this concept out more then we could save millions in our schools by just having the students decide is thermodynamics, photosynthesis and covalent bonding is real, or if their subsequent processes are actually controlled by divine orders. This would indeed be a brave new age of tolerance, discussion and harmony brought forth by taking comments such as your seriously.
