Though it started on a rocky footing, the show went on to become one of the most popular and beloved shows of the 1980s as the girls grew up together, graduated, and, in the final episode, embarked on their adult lives. The first season of the show featured seven students, but by the second season this number had been cut to four: the spoiled rich girl, Blair; the boy-crazy Sue Ann; the gossipy Tootie; and the plump and naïve Natalie.
