AFI Notes 2004's Moments of Significance

by |

The American Film Institute will include "Moments of Significance" to bolster its 2004 awards program at a luncheon Jan 14, according to CNN. Those moments range from cultural landmarks ("The Passion of the Christ") to political films ("Fahrenheit 9/11") to the passage of legends (Marlon Brando). Also cited will be "Tarnation," for its articulate but low-budget aesthetic, "The Daily Show," for its political satire, and the FCC's indecency rulings and their effect on the airwaves.
